We prevent deforestation to block CO2 emissions and preserve the ecosystems in the Amazon

Conservation programs that reduce the emissions generated by the deforestation and degradation of forests (REDD+) constitute immediate strategies to mitigate climate change.

REDD+ Brazil-nut concessions is one of the world’s top programs for social and environmental impact: it directly benefits more than 700 local families (partners), protects +600,000 ha of unique Brazil-nut forests, and generates more than 2 MM VCS carbon standard credits a year.

Since 2021 we have been working in partnership with 119 concessionaires in Madre de Dios, most of them located in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve, in order to protect +51,500 ha. of Amazonian forests with a high risk of deforestation due to illegal mining, specifically illegal gold mining in the area.

Since 2008, BAM has been protecting a private area of +14,500 ha in Ucayali, where it is developing the REDD+ The Last Habitat project, avoiding the emission of 500,000 tCO2e on average per year, under VCS - VERRA standard.
Located just 11km away from the city of Pucallpa and surrounded by deforestation pressures from agriculture, urbanization and others, the project is home to an extraordinary ecological richness, being the last habitat or refuge of various species of flora and fauna and a “green island” of outstanding natural value.

Reducing our carbon emissions is not enough. We need to eliminate excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to head off climate catastrophe. Be part of the change!
