To implement the project, in late 2022 we helped form the Federation of Concessionaires of Madre de Dios (FECOMAD) on behalf of 6 associations, in order to establish a strong organization to protect the interests of the concessionaires' families. We worked with FECOMAD and its environmental leaders to mobilize the most important Peruvian government agencies to generate a joint strategy to address the threats of deforestation (such as mining and illegal logging) that threaten the region's forests.
